Call me crazy but Akeem the African Dream and Pimp Manager Slick seem to be the worst of the bunch...

Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne Get Engaged. Twitter Steps Up.
Nickelback's lead singer and the girl whose name translates to April Flower in English are engaged. Your move, Twitter.
Here's my tweet idea that isn't nearly as funny, but hadn't been mentioned: Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are engaged?! What's next, John Mayer and Katy Perry hook up?!

A Series of Unrelated Thoughts
I'm back.
My summer classes are over and I'm hitting my stride at work, both have led to infrequent postings on here. Sorry I guess.
I had a lot of thoughts ruminating in my head so I'm just going to purge it out.
Fantasy Football.
I had my fantasy football draft last night. What a great day. It's always a great time, and for once I actually love my team coming out of the auction. It is kind of sad though how frustrated one can get over a fourth running back or missing out on a kicker you wanted.
Is it bad that I spent more time studying my team, "The Gold Standard", last night than actual preparation for the draft?
The Vikings are going to be terrible.
They were impressive against Buffalo on Friday, but overall this team just doesn't stack up against the other teams in the NFC North. The best hope this team has to compete is if Chicago is banged up by injuries to their aged roster, Detroit is as undisciplined on the field as they are off, and all of Green Bay's supposed 37 all-pros gets injured.
The Vikes are banking on Percy Harvin to step up, and he's taken leadership queue's from Randy Moss so I don't like where that's headed.
The secondary is a mess and the defensive line could be overrated.
It does seem the offensive line will be markedly better, Matt Khalil should make an instant impact, Charlie Johnson moving away from left tackle better suits him, John Sullivan is an established veteran, and swinging gate Ryan Cook is no longer on the roster. Could the media/fan attention brought towards Khalil take some pressure off of Phil Loadholt? I sure hope so.
Also there are signs Christian Ponder could be a solid quarterback. His biggest issue last season was poor reads/throws on out-routes and posts leading to several interceptions. Otherwise his mobility is fantastic, he's gotta be in the top handful of intelligent quarterbacks already, and the arm is steady. It sounds like he adopts the leadership role to a tee and is one of those "first to enter, last to leave" guys they didn't have in other recent QBs.
The only thing that still bugs me is I question if he's a winner. Apparently he didn't come from an elite high school program, Florida State never did anything special with him lining up under center, and he's going to be losing a lot of ball games early in his career against said stacked division. Am I overrating the "winner" aspect?
Do I think he can be Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers? No
Do I think he can be Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco? Absolutely
Can you make a Super Bowl around guys like that? Probably
Mark it down, Vikings lose to Indianapolis on the road in week 2. Top-three pick again next Spring. Before you get mad, take a step back and realize everything you hear on KFAN is just as slanted as anything you'd see on FOX News, MSNBC, and Cinemax.
Tom Barnard Podcast
I've really enjoyed the new podcast from KQRS kingpin Tom Barnard. The oft criticized, wildly popular Barnard, often misunderstood for his anti-Minnesota nice style, is away from his morning show cohorts and incorporates his family in the 'R' rated podcast. Kudos to Tommy B for finding an avenue that can make him money beyond his morning show.
Twins baseball
Sigh. All I'll say is they have to be the only team in the history of professional sports where when a player is listed as day-to-day, it really means three weeks.
Great picture of James Brown and Johnny Carson
